just released a new One Minute Bible Story—the story of Creation. It may only be a minute long, but believe me, it took a long time to make. Every frame, every detail, and every choice was intentional.
This series is something I’ve been experimenting with—taking major Bible stories and distilling them into one minute so people can hear, know, and understand the Word of God in a simple, engaging way. But I didn’t just want to retell these stories the same way they’ve always been told.
When most people think of Bible stories, they picture Renaissance-style paintings—grand, beautiful, but often far removed from the world and people the Bible actually came from. My approach is a little different. I want these stories to feel more realistic, more connected to history, and more inclusive of the people who were likely there.
In this Creation Story video, Adam and Eve are portrayed as people of color. Historically and scientifically, people with darker skin tones are the most likely to be the origin of humanity, as they can produce a wide range of skin tones—including lighter ones. This is rarely represented in Western portrayals, but I believe it matters. Not just for accuracy, but because these are our shared human beginnings.
My hope is that these stories will not only remind us who God is, but also help us see ourselves—and each other—more clearly in His creation.
