The third team in sports are the referees. Though they are smaller and psychically weaker than the players, they have the legal authority to take players out the game when they are out of line with the head office’s rule book. In the same way, we have legal authority in Jesus to rebuke the enemy when he is out of line with God’s word ( Luke 10:18-20). 

When we accept Christ as savior, we have crossed over from death to life! We are no longer victims, tossed back and forth by evil desires, but we are mighty warriors with the breath of God in our lungs to enforce His peace on earth as it is in heaven. We have become empowered agents of change. We are what Tony Evan’s calls a member of the spiritual “ Third Team ”.

We can’t take the devil out on our own, but you better believe when we call on the name of Jesus, the devil is in trouble. Authority has been given to us who gladly bow down our necks to the leadership of Christ.

We are The Third Team in the spiritual realms. Culture does not control us, but we transform culture. We are empowered by the ALMIGHTY GOD to do His will on earth as it is in Heaven.

Matthew 28:18

 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Prayer

Thank you, holy heavenly father, for empowering us to do you will on earth as it is in heaven. Thank you for Jesus who has all authority on heaven and earth. May we never act powerless, but always use the authority you have given us to bring forth your kingdom life! Increase the workers in the harvest, so many more will find this freedom in you! Amen!
