Psalm 78:4-5 (NIV)
…We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.
Do you realize that you have something to give the next generation? Do you realize the attitudes you have today, and the perspectives you hold will affect the next generation?
Let that sink in…
Deuteronomy 6:5-7 (NIV)
5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
It is our job to tell, train, and teach the next generation in the ways of God. We are to testify or tell them what God has done in our lives so that their eyes may be open to the power of God. Then we must train them so they know how to wield that power, and finally, we must teach them so they understand how to empower others.
Take a deep breath, release it. With this, you receive the God-given calling as a witness, trainer, and teacher to the next generation.
Open up your hands, lift them up. With this, you open your heart to tell, train, and teach the next generation.
Dear heavenly Father, you are set apart. There is none like you. We say that you are above everything else. Forgive us for hoarding stories of how you delivered us. Forgive us from holding back wealth knowledge from our children. May we use our resources to educate the next generation about your goodness so that they may put their trust in you, and have eternal life. We receive your power, we receive your wisdom, and we will walk in your presence forever amen.
