Today’s readings :

 Psalm 85:8-13

Romans 3:9-31

Amos 3:1-4:13

Listen to God’s Promises

Psalm 85:8-13 opens with I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints, but let them not return to folly”. So many times we try to do things our way, and it ends up in a mess. We need to recognize that God has good plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11),  he wants to bless us beyond measure. Yet, we can sabotage our success by turning to our old ways, and following the folly of our own hearts.

Pray:  Thank you Dear heavenly Father that you have good in store for us. May we open our eyes to see your promises, and helps us to see you in a greater light. Let us receive all the goodness you have in store for us. Amen.

Listen to Jesus

Romans 3:9-31 shows us that no one is righteous apart from Jesus. Paul points out that the Law cannot save us, but only points out where we are jacked up at. The law is just a mirror so we can see the crud on our face, but Jesus is the soap and water to take away the mess. I remember being self-righteous thinking that because knew scriptures that it made me right. But knowing scriptures does not make you righteous before God. Having faith in Jesus Christ and letting the Holy Spirit transform your attitude is what makes you right with God.

Pray: Thank you heavenly Father that you have given us Jesus to save us from our sins. We accept his righteousness, and we pray to walk in his grace for all our lives, Amen.

Listen to the Warning Signs

In Amos 3:1 to 4:13 God is telling people to listen to the warning signs and that their sins are bringing disasters on them. The people see the ruin but don’t take it to heart. The people see destruction but still refuse God’s instruction to turn away from sin. Sometimes we want things so much that we overlook the warning signs, but when we take the time to rewind and take heed to the warning signs, things will work out fine, and that’s my rhyme! Peace!

Pray: My Lord and Father give us the strength to say “no” when we see the warning signs to repent. May we repent, and turn to you. Amen.

” Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking. For if the people of Israel did not escape when they refused to listen to Moses, the earthly messenger, we will certainly not escape if we reject the One who speaks to us from heaven! “-Hebrews 12:25 (NLT)
