We just finished word in 3d this morning, and what really stood out to me was the book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah was a prophet from Israel, but he just didn't prophesy just to Israel...because the Bible isn't just about Israel, but about God who chose Israel to be His mouthpiece in order to speak to the whole world on where to find salvation. Jeremiah deals with Israel first, but then he gives warnings to Moab and Ammon. The God of Israel is the God of the whole world, but he chose Israel to reveal himself. As I was talking with my brothers this morning on the Zoom call what came to my attention is that we are blessed to be a blessing, God doesn't just bless us to say " wow, look that's neat!" but he does it so we can bless the entire earth. God cares about harmony, truth, life, and love. He wants us to treat each other right, and when society can't get that right then comes the curse.
My brother Aaron pointed out in our reading today “A curse on anyone who is lax in doing the Lord’s work!
A curse on anyone who keeps their sword from bloodshed!"(Jeremiah 48:10). In the OT the command was to destroy by a physical sword, but to us, the command is different because I battle isn't against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual darkness, and if we are lax in applying the word of God in our lives then we are certainly bringing a curse. It's crazy to think that from Adam and Eve came death and diseases, but through Jesus comes everlasting life. Adam and Eve were lax in obeying the word of God, but Jesus was obedient to death.
I'm passionate about spreading this word because it keeps people from being destroyed. That is my heart for Word in 3D, I want people to go deep into the word of God so when storms come, they'll know the truth, and the truth will set them free! We were given the gift of salvation to give. Don't hold back or be timid about the gift God has given you. With grace, boldly proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ to all of our neighbors in order to preserve their life. Amen!
‘God did not give [you] a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline’ (2 Timothy 1:7)
Prayer: Today Lord, open the gates of my wealth and help me to pour out what you have given me. May I have no reserves, but through your love, may I give freely and make a difference in the world around me. Amen!
